The Final 12 Brides of Summer

As we head to the last book of "The 12 Brides of Summer" Novella Collections, what can we expect? More fun historical romance, of course! "The 12 Brides of Summer",  Book 4, is the final book of the digitally published collections of novellas from Barbour Publishing. To end a great summer run of this collection, this last book consists of stories by Vickie McDonough, Diana Brandmeyer and Davalynn Spencer.

The County Fair Bride by Vickie McDonough kicks off this collection in full alert gear! Why do I say that? Do you remember the obnoxious Prudence Willard in "The 12 Brides of Christmas: The Fruitcake Bride"? Well, she's back, but this time, she is the heroine of our story.  Since her disgraceful ways of The Fruitcake Bride, Prudence (Prudy) has turn to the Lord and back in Advent, Texas, hoping to start anew, while butting heads with the new mayor.  A wonderful start, because it showed us a little of what a determined and feisty Prudy can be and how she truly has changed with the grace of the Lord.

The Honey Bride by Diana Brandmeyer was a sweet story about family, fear, strength and of course love through trials and companionship. After travesty, will Kate be able to trust God and bring her heart to rely on Pete, whose friendship may have ulterior motives? And what about the drunk her father has hired? It is a story that brings hope and sweetness among uncertainty.

The Columbine Bride by Davalynn Spencer is another one of those stories that follows a previous novella from "The 12 Brides of Christmas". This time it's "The Snowbound Bride".  However, it is not as evident as The County Fair Bride by Vicki McDonough. Anyhow, The Columbine Bride ties together the Lord's words to help thy neighbor and with time, love blossoms even with loss.

I enjoyed all three novels, and I find this book a good closing for the whole collection. If I have to describe each of these books, I would say the following words describe the feeling I have for each.

A great collection with great authors.  Definitely worth a visit again, possibly next summer?

NOTE: I received a complimentary copy of this e-book from the publisher, Barbour Publishing through Net Galley for an honest review.
