Top 3 Kick-Butt Meet Cutes by Nichole Parks & share your own!

Welcome Nichole to Just Commonly!

I’d be okay if I came close to dying.

And church just doesn’t seem like the place for that to go down, for me to meet some handsome bugger, for my meet cute to finally happen. I mean, sure. If you want to get technical about it, boy meets girl . . . and a lot of other congregants during the “greet your neighbor” part of service.

But the boy rescues girl part . . . ? I just can’t think of any place safer. Shouldn’t there be a little risk involved?

As far as I can tell, it makes for the best stories.

One: Short-Straw Bride by Karen Witemeyer

He trapped her.
Literally. Travis Archer never intended for anything bigger than a coon to land itself between the metal jaws. And he couldn’t bring himself to sever set another after Meredith Hayes injured herself trespassing on his land . . . and his heart.
They share such a tender seen as he frees her that I nearly cried.

Two: Danger in the Shadows by Dee Henderson

The Adam Black isn’t afraid of dark enclosed places, just writers. When he gets stuck in an elevator with one, he’s suspicious that Sara may be responsible, may be waiting to turn his words for the tabloid. However, when she starts to hyperventilate, he sees her terror and protects her from memories.

Three: My Foolish Heart by Susan May Warren

Isadora Presley spends her nights giving romantic advice on a radio call-in show, when she’s never even fallen in love. . . until a new caller puts her heart on the line.

BoyNextDoor throws her off her game. Really, he can be quite infuriating with his reality checks. His call-ins threaten her reputation as a love guru. But it might just be the best thing to ever happen—Caleb Knight saving her from her own ideals.

Do you think love requires risks? What’s your favorite meet cute rescue?

  2. I love Karen Witemeyer's books. The Short Straw Bride was a favorite, and I'm glad Travis "lost".
