Too many people, too much snow, and too little room should be a recipe for disaster.

Christmas takes a very different turn when the guests of honor break up instead of announcing their engagement. Trapped with his family, they learn that love looks different than either imagined. Both in their eighties, Dodie and Wilson Binder celebrate every Christmas as if it were their last. This year, their grandson Micah is planning to ask his girlfriend, Katie, to marry him so they can celebrate with the whole family. But things go very wrong when she says, "no." Now they are stuck. Too many people, too much snow, and too little room should be a recipe for disaster. But sometimes too much is just enough. Especially when it's Christmas.

Ahhhh. An Endless Christmas fully embodies what Christmas is all about.  Not only Christmas as a holiday, but Christmas in faith and Christmas with family and Christmas of love.  It's beautiful. It's funny. It's awkward (in a very good way - I mean who wouldn't be awkward with such a big family). And it's magical.  No, not the fantasy type of magic, but the miracle type that only God can be the source.

Do you have Christmas celebrations as such? A big family all gathered and not enough rooms to fit everyone on a bed? Well, I have a huge family too and I love every bit of it. How does one big family, with all those people not get on everyone's toes? With the Binder family in An Endless Christmas, it's their profound and deep faith and love for our Lord Jesus that allows them to look beyond the little mishaps and find forgiveness, patience and generosity for each other. I mean, how could you not love a family that looks beyond the initial "rejection" of the "She said no!" and find the love to embrace Katie. Katie, a young woman who grew up in a broken family of sorts and had learned to not put hope in people and relationships.  Can she withstand the bear-hugs and love-all spirit of Micah's family? Will she learn to find hope in God and others?  And who doesn't love Uncle Paul's "Family Jokester" sense of humor?

Before we stop here, what about the gorgeous cover? Honestly! I can't help but love this novella. Speaking of being a novella, it's a perfect story, and I won't have it any other way. It doesn't need to be shorter or longer. It really is what it is. Cynthia truly have outdone herself with this one. After reading it, it has shot up to one of the top 3 Christmas stories I've read - ever. And to end, here are some of my favorite quotes in the book.

"...sometimes those who are the most generous have an issue letting others be generous with them. And, I mean, a heart issue...if we aren't willing to receive, aren't we keeping someone else from a blessing, then?"  (Grandpa Wilson, 91)
"Christmas is going to come where I'm here or not, you know.  It's relentness that way.  Nothing stopped it that first Christmas. Nothing will stop it now." (199) - Amen.

A simple prayer that speaks it all:
"Heavenly Father, thank You for this family. We thank You for the gift of life, and endless life through Your Son. Now bless this food and the hands that prepared it, that we might serve You all our days, however many, however few.  In the Name of Jesus. Amen." (207)

UPDATE: I forgot to say that after reading An Endless Christmas, I want to add Stillwater, MN as a destination for my family and I to visit. It just sounds so beautiful! Maybe next year?

NOTE:  I received a complimentary copy of this book through Litfuse Publicity Group for an honest review.
