A powerful and tragic opening. One that will get you into the story the moment you read those words. Once you're in, you won't want to put this down until you finish. You're emotionally connected to the story, its characters, their healing process and a wonderful lesson that everyone should learn.

(21)Spoken by Mrs. Carla, whom I just adore. She speaks her mind and is one that will tell you what the Good Book says. From her past experiences, she denounces gossip as what it is. Just gossip and rumors with no proof, and it is this horrible rumor of murder that plagued our main character, Colton and his family. I feel for him and for Jimmy. I've had my share of experience with rumors and gossip that had tarnished my reputation to some degree back in the day. Though I can't change anyone's mind, I've learnt to trust in God and focus my attention on His words, not the words of others that don't even know me. And with that experience, I feel connected to Beyond the Silence and looked forward to a triumphant revealing of truth that will abolish the whispers out there.
Beyond the Silence shared with us a story of love and healing that requires one from the most basic and important kind - healing from the Lord. Our heroine, Lillian is kind-hearted, independent and have a lot of spunk the moment you meet her. Just take in the scene of her telling off one of the train passengers that was putting an unwelcome move on her! Colton is searching for light in times of darkness with the murder of his wife, the trauma his son had witnessed, and the betrayal of the people of Angels Camp, whom he had thought were his friends. Jimmy, at such a young age carries the burden of knowing the truth and the fear that more harm will come to his love ones if he talks. Characters with painful pasts and presents that seeks the ultimate healing of love and God's grace. I feel and care for these characters. An emotionally engaging story that will have you reaching for your Kleenex. I highly recommend.

Kim Woodhouse is a
devoted wife and mother, and a third generation Liszt student. She has passed
down her love of the arts to hundreds of students throughout the years,
recorded three albums, and appeared at more than 700 venues.Her quick wit, enthusiasm, and positive outlook through difficult circumstances have gained her audiences at conferences, retreats, churches, military functions, and seminars all over the country.
The Woodhouse family's story has been on the front page of newspapers, in magazines, articles, medical journals, and most recently featured on ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. They were also asked to share their story on The Montel Williams Show and Discovery Health Channel's Mystery ER.
