A single mother with a secret past. A Hollywood star who's life is anything but hidden. Will the past deprive them of a future? Or will they dare to dream a dream for love?

When the gavel hit the wooden block at the Possible Dreams Auction, Laurel Simmons sat in stunned silence. Her sister had lost her mind, purchasing a week’s vacation stay for two at actor Ryan Crandall’s beach house on Martha’s Vineyard. And then Tammy announced that she was giving the “dream” to Laurel as an early birthday present.

A month later, Laurel and her four-year-old daughter Gracie arrive at the luxurious house on Squibnocket Beach ready to swim, play, picnic and enjoy the peace and solitude together.

Laurel’s dream vacation quickly turns into a nightmare when Hollywood bad boy Ryan Crandall shows up to escape his latest tabloid headlines. Ryan wants the woman and her child gone. Laurel wants him gone. Fate will bring them together for reasons neither one of them expected, but fate will also drive them apart.

Laurel has a past she needs to keep hidden. Her life and Gracie’s depend on it. Ryan has a past, and present, that’s been food for public consumption for over a decade. Will the past deprive them of a future? Or will they dare to dream a dream for love?

"God's grace allows us all to change, using the past as a learning experience, not a piece of baggage we're doomed to lug around forever." I wrote this down on my journal, but forgot to note the page number.  Anyway, that's not the point.  A Dream for Love is not only about love in a romantic sense, but the love of our Lord.  There's a romantic story involved too, but the inspirational elements in this novel are so strong, I can't help but fall in love with this.

As Laurel's love for her daughter, Grace, have her looking over her shoulders constantly, a generous gift by her sister brings her to face not only her past, but her heart.  Ryan, a superstar with a "bad boy" reputation doesn't care about others, just himself, and to never let anyone close. However, a sweet a little girl may just have won his heart for good, along with letting love slip in.

Every aspect, from Laurel's life to Grace's princess dreams (so cute!) to Ryan's development have felt realistic and on mark. The writing was easy to read, with deep moments, as well as comical ones, especially those from Tammy. Then there's the interactions of Ryan and Grace that will just melt your heart.  Laurel's fear will resonate with all, especially parents. An inspirational romance with a hint of mystery that will tug at your heart and carry your emotions on quite a ride.  This is one that you'll have to read, and stay away from spoilers, because you'll want to experience this one all on your own.

"...that's not how God works.  you know that He understands your anger, your hurt, your doubt in Him, your fear and your confusion..." (310)
"You know as well as I do that people have free will, and free will and human nature cause more problems than God could ever want us to experience...Trust Him...Draw near to Him...He loves you...more than we can begin to fathom." (312-313)
