MY THOUGHTS

What a beautiful and sweet book Forever My Little Girl by Karen Kingsbury is! It's a story of a little girl's journey, from birth to princesses to love and to growing up, yet in the eyes of the parents, that little girl will always be their little girl. The story is simple, yet profound. It's like when you're chilled, you take one sip of something hot, and it warms you from your mouth down to your throat, and spreads everywhere. It's that feeling of warmth, that grows and travels from your heart to the furthest tip.  I don't have a little girl, but I know that I will always be my parents' little girl.  I think of my first "crown" at my birthday party, and I think of my dad walking me down the aisle at my wedding, and the glistening sparkle in my mom's eyes. O, what a story! It will take you down memory lane for sure.  The biblical verses spread throughout relates to each journey, each experience, and we are reminded more that we're not only our parents' little girl, we are our Father's treasured child.

The illustrator, Joanne Lew-Vriethoff did a fabulous job illustrating the various subjects. From colors to lines, it captured the significance of Karen's words and the related biblical verse.  It's a perfect match.

Buy this as a gift to parents, for yourself or pass it down to your little girl. In any way it is read, it will be cherished.
