Genre: Contemporary Christian Romance

After ten years in
the NFL, superstar Gray Fowler is accustomed to obsessive fans. But when Gray
starts receiving death threats from a stalker, his team hires an executive
protection agency to guard him until the culprit is caught. Dealing with
bodyguards 24/7 is a headache, especially when one of them is a young,
beautiful woman. How can a female half his size possibly protect him better
than he can protect himself?
Dru Porter is a former Marine, an expert markswoman, and a black belt--none of which saved her from disaster on her last assignment. In order to rebuild her tarnished reputation, she's determined to find Gray's stalker and, since relationships between agents and clients are forbidden, avoid a romantic attachment between herself and the rugged football player with the mysterious past.
Yet every secret that leads Dru closer to the stalker also draws her closer to Gray. As the danger escalates, they'll survive only if they can learn to trust their lives--and their hearts--to one another.

Let me tell you something. Something I'm kicking myself for not being there already. How could I have not read any of Becky Wade's Porter Family series until this one, Her One and Only?! HOW?!!
Her One and Only is the perfect contemporary romance with just the right amount of lovey dovey, mixed in with some suspense and character development. Not to mention, the support of a great cast of family, friends and even nefarious villains. OK, maybe not that nefarious, but there are definitely some great characters you don't want to miss. And for a great romance, you'll need our main characters. In this story, we have Dru Porter. She makes me want to be HER.
"...she was, very simply, exactly who she was. Formidable. Like a female Old West sheriff come to life in this modern day. Girl power personified." (37)
And Gray Fowler, NFL superstar with playboy persona, and oh so confidently yummy.
" 'I got to where I am...by being determined...You're going to love me,' he said.
Oh, God, she prayed, needing steadying. She was outright terrified that he might be right." (196)
OK, maybe he's not particularly my type, but anyone can see (read) that he is definitely the one for Dru. Both with the need to find faith in God and their own happy ending, giving way to a connection that is beyond sizzling. Their attraction is undeniable, yet one also see their vulnerabilities, especially with Dru, and that's what makes her so attractive as a character. She's tough on the outside and to many, that may define her, but Gray sees more - who she is, and vice versa. Their easy and sometimes frustrating banter makes these two a fun pair.
In terms of characters, I must also bring up Meg. Her story line in Her One and Only resonated with me on a personal level, and really pulled at my heartstrings. Reading about how she grapples with trust in God makes it real. The pain she'd been through, along with the support of family had me praying for her even though she's just a character in a novel.
With humor and suspense, Becky Wade's Her One and Only grants readers the pleasure of finding a read that embodies emotional and spiritual growth, all combined perfectly.
