O, don't you just LOVE that cover! I was jumping with joy when this arrive in the March 2016 Uppercase box. I had to do a bookstagram with it! What do you think?Now back to the book. It is just smoking hot! Loved it. With a mix of mythology and mysticism, throwing in a strong heroine and rakish hero, will have you guessing and fanning throughout the book. I mean how could you not with words like this?
"...I didn't want to leave him. He made the world bigger. I wanted to go to the countries he'd been to. And more than anything I wanted him to ask me to go with him. But we were running out of time together." (143)And who is this we are talking about? Jin, ruggedly handsome and mischievous in more ways than one. With a smart mouth too!
"I knew I liked you, Bandit." (130)Special he is that he's the book boyfriend spotlighted on Penguin Teen! When the hero is hot, it adds a little something, but when the chemistry between our heroine and hero ignites, topped with a storyline that have you guessing, that is one good book. Even though it's only book 1 of the series, it starts and stays strong throughout, including the ending. It was perfectly written to give you a glimpse of what's to come, captivating you enough for the year wait for the sequel, yet also giving you enough closure to be satisfied.
If you love fantasy and a good read, you'll enjoy Rebel of the Sands. I mean, you can use it for shelf-candy too!
