Author: Erin Weidermann

Release Date:  June, 2016
Genre: Children

Bible Belles’ The Adventures of Rooney Cruz is an original children’s series that presents real life heroes like never before. The series highlights five superhero women of the Bible: Hannah, Esther, Abigail, Ruth and Deborah.

We’re setting out to present women in the Bible in a way that has never been done before. We want girls to connect with them and find out what being truly beautiful is all about. We want girls to remember their names, their stories, and how special they are.

The Adventures of Rooney Cruz is a great series for young girls to learn about female characters in the Bible and the "superpower" they have.  I love that girls can relate to the story and to these Biblical characters in the modern sense, giving them a way to find strength in themselves and in God.  The concept of being h.e.a.r.d, taken from Exodus 28:35, "The sounds of the bells will be heard," brings forth 5 characters in the Bible that demonstrates 5 different traits, and each characters' names begins with a letter in the word heard. With Esther, we have the belle of patience, and as Rooney is transported back to Esther's time as queen, she sees with her own eyes the beauty of patience.  Rooney is like any young girl going through life at home with family or at school with friends. Situations arise giving Rooney the opportunity to learn something valuable, and with the help of her personal guardian angel, Mari, her journey will be greatly enriched. Follow Rooney and Mari to meet some great heroines and learn what God's love and truth of beauty is.

  1. Ruth, not only because it's my mom's name, but because she was so loyal and loving to her mother-in-law.

  2. Veronica because she wiped the face of Jesus as he carried the cross, even as those around her laughed and abused him.
