Inkspirations: Fruit of the Spirit Adult Coloring book is the latest of a series of coloring books with original artwork by Lorrie Bennett. I was quite intrigued by this trend from the get go, but can never get myself to really indulge in it. I have several coloring books, and I find the act of just perusing them can be therapeutic as well, despite not coloring them just yet.  With Inkspirations, the artwork comes alongside a corresponding Biblical verse. Rather, the artwork corresponds with the provided Biblical verse, and that makes it ever more enjoyable. 

In Inkspirations, it starts off with a page of simple techniques for beginners, and then a sample of other's colored production of the pages within this book.  This one definitely is for beginners with strong and heavy lined drawings to get you started. However, even though the illustrations in Inkspirations are tailored towards beginners, I find its over-drawn details unnecessary. The lines provide depth and shading to the illustrations, but it takes away from the reader/colorist to attempt to play with it. As you can see from the example above, even the leaves are heavily lined. Otherwise, I think this would be a great start to a wonderful hobby.
