In the chaos of New York, true love can be hard to find, even when it’s been right under your nose all along…

Love has never been a priority for garden designer Frankie Cole. After witnessing the fallout of her parents' divorce, she's seen the devastation an overload of emotion can cause. The only man she feels comfortable with is her friend Matt—but that's strictly platonic. If only she found it easier to ignore the way he makes her heart race…

Matt Walker has loved Frankie for years but, sensing how fragile she is beneath her feisty exterior, has always played it cool. But then he uncovers new depths to the girl he's known forever and doesn't want to wait a moment longer. He knows Frankie has secrets and has buried them deep, but can Matt persuade her to trust him with her heart and kiss him under the Manhattan sunset?

For this New Yorker, reading stories set in NY brings on a certain sense of nostalgia. I just love it, and the funny thing is I don't gravitate towards stories specifically set in NY. I think in truth, I'm a little scared that a book will butcher and ruin the beautiful image of I have of the city and its people, well, certain people. Sarah Morgan did a fabulous job in Sleepless in Manhattan, giving Manhattan its due brilliance and chaos. In this next installment of Manhattan With Love series, Sunset in Central Park, she again reminds me all the great and beautiful things about New York. Frank Sinatra's "New York, New York" plays softly in my head.

UK Version
Setting aside, I really had fun with Sunset in Central Park. The easy and fun banters between the three best friends, Paige, Eve and Frankie, as well as between our main couple, Frankie and Matt.  The compelling message of patience, trust and forging on on living your own life, and not in the shadows of others.  Frankie built a wall around herself from men due to her past, creating a boundary that is hard to penetrate.  Though strong and independent on the outside, her emotional fragility on the inside was clear as day.  As patience leads to trust, the blossoming relationship beyond friendship was gives way to a triumphant feeling for this reader, as I'm rooting for them. Sometimes Frankie and her trust issues can be a bit off-putting, but without that extreme, the tenderness and sweet patience of Matt would not have stood out as valiantly as it did. A beautiful story, filled with more than just the romance.

For my clean readers, please note this novel contains minor profanity and intimate scenes.

  1. I entered, but am disappointed that following on instagram is a requirement to get any more chances, as I am not on instagram. I did however follow on goodreads and added her book to my to read shelf.
