My favorite female character in the Bible is, of course, Mary, Jesus' mother. As a mother, I can't imagine the pain of giving up your child to death. I don't know if I could handle it. However, knowing that they would be with our Heavenly Father would be a great comfort. I'm sure Mary found strength and comfort in God as well.

Wow! Debbie, you're right. What Mary had to bear was indeed painful. Thanks for sharing!
DeleteI like Esther. She was kind, loving and patient. These Bible Belle books are wonderful to share with my grandchildren..

So many to choose from! Esther is right up there! But I think I'd go with Ruth -- she showed her bravery by following Naomi, Naomi's God and people. She then continued to show bravery upon meeting Boaz -- you go, girl!

I love Ruth! She's such a strong, brave woman.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree Edye!
DeleteI have always loved the story of Ruth but I think that Esther was extremely brave. She saved her people while risking her own safety.
ReplyDeleteThat's so true. It's always been hard for me to pick my favorite female characters from the Bible. There's just so few, but they do all stand out!
DeleteMy granddaughter would love this.
