Welcome to my very late Year-End 2016 Favorites!!
My year end favorite reads are books I've read in 2016 for the first time (and not necessarily all reviewed here - eek! or reviewed in 2016 - a few were posted in January 2017). They are also not all published in 2016, but majority am.
To start it off, here's what's going to happen. Every day in through February 28th (minus Sunday) at 6:00 PM EST,
- I will tell you my favorite reads in the category of the day through their covers (you know how I love covers) and
- Remember, you can see my review of the book (in a new window) by clicking on the covers.
- Then you come back and fill out the Rafflecopter for a chance to win a prize!

(NOT in any specific order!)
Contemporary fiction. Honestly, this and the historical fiction genre was the hardest to narrow down! Just because I've read a lot, and many are soooooo good. What more can I say about these than I've already have? Sometimes, they're so good, there are no words for it.

(1) winner will win the following with many thanks to:

ReplyDeleteI need to get on Close to You soon!! =) lol. I know what you mean. there really are so many to choose from!
DeleteThank you again!!! I'm so honored! <3 <3 <3
ReplyDeleteI loved Love, Lace and Minor Alterations. I need to thank Carrie (Reading is My Superpower) for connecting us and recommending it!! =)
DeleteI just started reading contemporary fiction. SO I have to say Just the Way You Are by Pepper Basham is my favorite. I still have to read A Twist of Faith though.
ReplyDeletehahha. My dear!! We need to remedy your minimal contemporary fiction reads!! LOVE A Twist of Faith...and I need to start Just the Way You Are soon.. at least the final version!! =)
DeleteLove Jan Karon's Mitford series, book 11 released in 2015.
ReplyDeleteWow! That's a long series! Thanks for the suggestion!
DeleteI've been a Jan Karon fan for 20 years... seriously, she started the series back then and I loved it and thought "I want to do this someday! Write beautiful stories that make folks laugh... and sometimes cry."
DeleteGreat picks! Some of my favorite contemporary novels are the Christiansen Family series by Susan May Warren, Dear Mr. Knightley and A Portrait of Emily Price by Katherine Reay, Pimpernel by Sheralyn Pratt, His Personal Relationship Manager and Jessie Belle by Jennifer Peel. It's so hard to choose, isn't it?! I did have fun scrolling through my Goodreads shelves for my 5 stars :)
ReplyDeleteHahahha. Thanks for all your suggestions! Love this community!
DeleteThat question is impossible for me to answer! I can narrow it down slightly by telling you some of my favorite contemporary authors are Becky Wade, Kara Isaac, Susan May Warren, and Rachel Hauck. There are too many great authors and books to pick just one favorite.
ReplyDeleteWe hahah. So true Pam!
DeleteAll time? How do I pick? I'm going to go with: Taken by Dee Henderson
ReplyDeleteRecent? Equally as hard to pick! I'm going to go with Ganshert's new one Life After.
O..that is a GOOD one! I'd second that....
DeleteI don't know that I have an all time favorite but I love Rachel Hauck's books. I also read Debra Clopton, Carolyne Aarsen, Ruth Logan Herne.
ReplyDeleteO great choices indeed! Thanks for sharing!
DeleteIsn't this hard to pick??? But I love that you gave me a shout out, Becky!!!!
DeleteI love all of Sally Hepworth's novels! (Is this contemporary fiction?) Not sure, lol.
ReplyDeletehaha.. I need to look her up! New to me. Thanks for sharing!
DeleteI can't pinpoint a favorite of all time as there are just too many quality books/stories, but just to name a few authors who write excellent contemporary which I always enjoy - Robin Lee Hatcher, Becky Wade, Ruth Logan Herne, Susan May Warren.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean.. hahahah. Love your author choices!
DeleteSending you hugs, Cathy! I love being on Annie's list... and yours!
DeleteI haven't read any of these, but they all look good! I have read "The Bronte Plot" by Katherine Reay, and I am really interested in her other books too. Thank you for such a great giveaway!
ReplyDeleteO, I really enjoyed The Bronte Plot too!! Definitely check out Katherine's other books too!
DeleteI really liked Intermission by Serena Chase :)
ReplyDeleteO me too!! I was so surprised by it! Totally taken and done my ugly cry there!

ReplyDeleteRecent...A toss up between Joanne Bischoff and Katie Ganshert!
That's a new one for me!! LOVE Joanne Bischoff and Katie Ganshert! Thanks for sharing!
DeleteI don't think I have a favorite book or author of all time! Becky Wade and Denise Hunter are two of my all-time favorite authors. Denise in particular really got me into Christian romance, and my life has been better ever since! 😉
ReplyDeleteNice!! I know what you mean. Julie Lessman and Tamera Alexander's books got me into Christian Fiction genre only about 6 years ago, and definitely better for it! Thanks for sharing!
DeleteI'm at a loss to pick a favorite! It's a little like asking which one of my kids I love most... There are, however, authors that I ALWAYS pick up their books when they have a new one out: Ruth Logan Herne, Colleen Coble, Suzanne Woods Fisher, Susan May Warren, Becky Wade, Kara Isaac, Irene Hannon, Robin Lee Hatcher, etc......
ReplyDeleteO.. I know what you mean!! Great choices!
Deletehahah. And forgot to say.. I would never ask which is your favorite kid (at least not in public and this is a public blog!) *wink wink.
DeleteAw, Pam, thank you!!! You just made my day!!!
DeleteMy favorite contemporary fiction is The Tradd Street series by Karen White.
ReplyDeleteDianne, Karen's work has been a favorite of mine for a long time, too. If I had to name three favorite authors it would be Karen, Lisa Wingate and Mary Connealy.... and I hate naming favorites because I have so many I love, but those three make me smile, laugh, sigh and cry...
DeleteKaren is new too!! Thanks for sharing! And I love that Ruthy said they make her "smile, laugh, sigh and cry!" Those ARE the best kinds of books!
DeleteThere are so many great books I've read over the last year. Anything by Ruth Logan Herne would have to be my favorite. I love the list you have and realized there are some I haven't read. Thanks for letting me know about some amazing books.
ReplyDeletehahah. DITTO on Ruth's books! Thanks for sharing!
DeleteJennifer Chiaverini wrote a wonderful series, The Elm Creek Quilters, and I hated to see this series end!
ReplyDeleteThat is a new one for me too! Thanks!!
DeleteMy Stubborn Heart by Becky Wade would be one of my favorites in this category.
ReplyDeleteHeard great things about My Stubborn Heart. One of my goals for this year is to finish the rest of the Porter Family series.. might need to add that one too!
DeleteExcellent list! I LOVED Can't Help Falling and Becky Wade's Porter Family series.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing, Caryl!!

ReplyDeleteVery good choices!!
DeleteI like all of Robin Carr's books. Susan Elizabeth Phillips is another favorite.
ReplyDeleteO, both Robin and Susan are new names to me!! Thanks for sharing!
DeleteMary Jane Hathaway's "Jane Austen takes the South" series is one of my all time favourites. Wish there were more!
ReplyDeleteArletta

ReplyDeleteSame here, Kim!!
DeleteKim, aren't we so blessed to be able to say that? And to have the choice and the opportunity! Fist-bumping for freedom!!!
DeleteI cannot pick just one, sorry!
ReplyDeletemia2009(at)comcast(dot)net
hahah. Edye, I don't blame you! *wink wink
DeleteEdye, I'm with you.... and I love that spelling of your name.
DeleteWhat a Sophie's Choice type of question! I can't answer it.
ReplyDeleteAll Time Fav Contemporary Fiction -- Not sure if this is my all time favorite, but definitely one of my longest favorites--The Princess by Lori Wick.
ReplyDeleteReleases within the last 5 years -- Sooooo many choices. I am not sure I can pick a favorite. But off the top of my head I will go with the Told Me so series by Kristen Heitzman. Those were really good!!
How is that beautiful baby doing???? He's adorable, Sydney!!!
DeleteIt's kind of half contemporary/half historical, but I love The Seven Sisters by Lucinda Riley.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed Back in the saddle and Home on the Range by Ruth Logan Herne. I can't wait to read her next book!
ReplyDeleteOh that is hard to pick a favorite of all time! I did read Can't Help Falling and thought it was great! I also adore Becky Wade's writing style and have read most of her books.
