This time, I'm going to start with the book, since it ties into so many things in this box. Plus it's quite pretty!

The Edge of Everything by Jeff Guiles has SUCH a pretty cover and that spine! Here it is again!

This book comes with a signed bookplate (yes!), and author letter and a bookmark. (Value: $11.16 on Amazon)

About The Edge of Everything by Jeff Giles:
For the perfect love, what would you be willing to lose?

It's been a shattering year for seventeen-year-old Zoe, who's still reeling from her father's shocking death in a caving accident and her neighbors' mysterious disappearance from their own home. Then on a terrifying subzero, blizzardy night in Montana, she and her brother are brutally attacked in the woods--only to be rescued by a mysterious bounty hunter they call X.

X is no ordinary bounty hunter. He is from a hell called the Lowlands, sent to claim the soul of Zoe's evil attacker and others like him. X is forbidden from revealing himself to anyone other than his prey, but he casts aside the Lowlands' rules for Zoe. As they learn more about their colliding worlds, they begin to question the past, their fate, and their future. But escaping the Lowlands and the ties that bind X might mean the ultimate sacrifice for them both.

Gripping and full of heart, this epic start to a new series will bring readers right to the edge of everything.

"As a little something extra from Litjoy, we included a keychain carabiner. In The Edge of Everything, rappelling is a huge part of the story..." And you can figure that Skittles have something to do with it too! So I'm looking forward to how they come into play in the story. Personally, I like the carabiner, since I do use them for many things - keys, connecting things to my backpack or my purse, they definitely come in handy! That fun sized Skittles literally had me smile when I saw it. Not that I'm a huge fan of the candy, just I love the bright colors! (Estimate value: $1 for carabiner & $0.50 for Skittles)

This "X on Ice" Ice Bath Salts are simply awesome! I love the simple ingredients and that it's based on the featured book. It was created exclusively for LitJoy Crate by Literary Apothecary. With peppermint and eucalyptus essential oils, you can bet this one smells relaxing! (Value: $8.50)

Next we have "The Lowlands" candle by In the Wick of Time inspired by the featured book again. Scents include chai & amber. It smells like warm vanilla with hints of roasted cinnamon. Might be a big strong on your initial whiff, but it does grow on you! (estimate Value: $4)

Also inspired by the featured book, this Nerdy Cat watch from Litjoy is just adorable. Though I'm not a big fan of the animal print band, it comes in a variety of colors, and distributed randomly in boxes. So if you have one, and is a solid color, I would be thrilled to trade with you! (Mine, never used!)  (Estimate value from similar ones I found: $19.99)

AND that's IT for the fairly direct inspiration. The next item is one I'm quite thrilled about and a feature I applaud Litjoy for starting. It's the monthly featured artist! For the month of February, they featured Jenna Paddey (@jennapaddey).

How pretty is that? And the print included in the box is....

This lovely Lily and James Potter print! It's a reduced size of 5.5" x 6.5", which I'm estimating the value at about $15. The 8"x 9" print is currently on sale for $15 for a limited time. The original price is $20.

Last is the reveal of next month's (month of March 2017) theme, which is Galactic Pirates! According to Litjoy's instagram, every YA box next month will come with a Star Wars tumbler AND a pair of socks from Woven Pear ($14.99 value)! I just LOVE their socks! But I'm not feeling this theme, so I've decided to skip March's, but if you're a fan of "a tale of love and betrayal, magic and friendship, set to the backdrop of the stars and space. This book reminded us of the Lunar Chronicles and is an epic tale, like Firefly meets Dune!", then go for it!

IN ALL: Total value of approximately $60, this is a good box. The books sounds interesting, and the items are all something I'd be happy to keep. Looking forward to a bath night with the bath salts and the candle!

The full shot!

  1. I didn't know about the words along the side pages--they freaked me out at first when I saw them staring at me from across the room. This box looks lovely.
