Blogging Thoughts: Reading Habits Tag

I thought I'll start off my Blogging Thoughts series with the Reading Habits Tag the lovely Emilie of Create Explore Read tagged me about a month ago.

1. Do you have a certain place at home for reading?
I can typically read anywhere! (O, just not in the bathroom. *wink wink)
2. Bookmark or random piece of paper?
Bookmark for sure! Though there were times of emergency where I had none on me (an oddity)! My weirdest bookmark? It would had to be a strand of hair. It's a plus to have long black hair!
3. Can you just stop reading or do you have to stop after a chapter/ a certain amount of pages?
Yes and no. Yes, but it had to be at a break, even if it's within a chapter. No because if a book is good, why would you want to stop?!!
4. Do you eat or drink while reading?
Drink, most of the time, but I've been known to forget about eating or drinking when I'm engrossed in a book.
5. Multitasking: Music or TV while reading?
Definitely NO.
6. One book at a time or several at once?
Several at once, but only one fiction at a time. I've tried reading two, one contemporary, and one historical once, and it was weird! I had things mixed up, and some interesting dreams!
7. Reading at home or everywhere?
Everywhere - in the car (when I'm a passenger), in a cafe, at the park...etc. Everywhere.
8. Reading out loud or silently in your head?
I've done both. When I come across a something that I know my Darcy would get a kick out of, I would read it aloud. And I've read chapters and even a whole book to him before.
9. Do you read ahead or even skip pages?
Never. Though I am a speed reader. I've encountered books where I like to go back and reread certain sections that I want to savor more.
10. Breaking the spine or keeping it like new?
Are you kidding me?!! Books have LIFE! You cannot hurt it with breaking the spine. OK, that sounds a bit crazy. I try to keep it new..and I have some weird methods. I might share with y'all another time. Hehe. (Hint: Do you see what I see in the pic on the right?)
11. Do you write in your books?
What kind of question is that? Of course not - O....OK. I'm sorry. I shouldn't be so quick to judge. Yes, I do write in books, but mostly notebooks or nonfiction where I do feel a need to take notes and highlight.

OK, now, this is a Reading Habits Tag, so I'm going to tag my friends at BookwormMama, Singing Librarian Books and Faithfully Bookish Have fun, y'all!

  2. I love this post! I NEVER break a spine or bend a page. I don't write in books either. The ladies in my old Bible study would always make fun of me for using a notebook. I couldn't even write in the study guide (yes, I know that is crazy)! One old friend used to tell people to watch me when we started a new book, the first thing she did was open the book and flatten it, then she bent each chapter heading page. I could not keep my self from cringing and making weird faces. Everyone laughed and said I had a "problem."

  3. Great post, Annie! Multi-task while reading... Not me either. I don't want any distractions while I'm on an adventure.

  4. This was so fun to read! I’ve been known to use pieces of paper, photos, business cards, and anything else I can get my hands on as a bookmark!
