Chloe Snow is back and things are as crazy as ever in this follow up to  2017’s Confessions of a High School Disaster.

THE YEAR OF LIVING AWKWARDLY: SOPHOMORE YEAR picks up right where readers left off as Chloe begins her summer job at the pool before heading back to school for her  sophomore year. Written with the same humor, wit, and teenage angst, Chloe’s latest adventures find her caught up in some epic relationship and friendship drama, relegated to the chorus for the upcoming play, and still  wondering just what in the world her Mom is thinking!

MY THOUGHTS

So I like stories. I like sequels to stories and stories that revisit characters. So I was happy to pick up after Confessions of a High School Disaster to see where Chloe Snow is now. In this sophomore year, The Year of Living Awkwardly: Sophomore Year by Emma Chastain, was a rather delightful read.

I thought Confessions of a High School Disaster decent, but I find Sophomore Year much more on mark in terms of pacing and dealing with teens' hormonal stage. Emotions are authentic even when we think of Chloe as eccentric, neurotic and not making any sense. Yet, it's all of that, that makes this Sophomore Year much more relatable. Adventurous for Chloe, and readers can join in on the eye rolling, but in all, great pacing and humorous behind the scenes for our main character!

  1. This is what I've read too in other reviews about this author's work; it seems she is growing and getting better with each book. Senior year will be amazing! I hope to read these books too.
